Job Description Job start: August 2021 Contract type: Full Time Contract term: Fixed Term – Initial 3 years North London Collegiate School Dubai seeks Head of Lower School Founded in partnership with Sobha, North London Collegiate School Dubai offers an academically ambitious education in keeping with the aspirational ethos of NLCS (UK). The School provides the same impressive range of extra-curricular activities for which NLCS (UK) and NLCS Jeju are well known, and to foster well-rounded individuals who are capable of becoming leaders. NLCS Dubai aims to be the top-performing IB World School in the UAE, supporting the aspirations and abilities of all students; as a result, they and their families will choose to stay in Dubai throughout their Primary and Secondary schooling. This selective, co-educational day school, caters for students aged 3 – 18. The School is located within the prestigious Sobha Hartland Development, close to the Burj Khalifa and ‘Downtown’ area of Dubai and boasts state-of-the-art facilities. The successful candidate will also ensure that the qualities of the IB Learner Profile and the core academic skills of research and inquiry are embedded within the curriculum. It is essential that the Head of Lower to implement the School’s vision, aims, policies and ethos by supporting the Deputy Head of Junior School to improve teaching and learning. Previous experience of the IB Primary Years and/or Middle Years Programmes are an advantage but not essential; of prime importance is an ability to motivate and inspire students in order to ensure that academic provision is consistently of the highest standard. All members of staff are expected to be involved in pastoral care within the School community, usually in the role of form tutor or co-tutor, and to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School.
