Engineering Advisor – Nuclear Energy

Job Description The general duties and responsibilities are as follows: • Lead and support on a variety of complex assessments, providing an independent viewpoint and direction on strategy. • Lead on complex root cause analyses. • Lead on engineering standards development. • Define and implement performance engineering measures to support business planning, measurement and reporting. • Evaluate emerging technologies to determine possible applications to support engineering activities. • Define a strategy to ensure modelling and simulation achieve verification, validation, and accreditation (if applicable). • Provide support in maintaining relationships throughout the plant and engineering organizations to foster excellent communication in support of problem-solving and plant support. • Provide guidance, coaching/ mentoring, and training of other engineering staff across the engineering divisions to foster broader perspectives among less experienced engineers. • Develop concepts and solutions to complex technical challenges often involving multiple system and subsystem interactions to bridge areas of responsibility between different system and component engineers. • Provide support to system performance and associated risk assessments to ensure that Probabilistic Risk Analysis Engineering has the appropriate data and perspective to perform useful analysis. • Consult across engineering disciplines to ensure proper implementation of systems and processes. • Confer with plant personnel to ensure that the performance of the developed systems meets plant and regulatory requirements. • Review and identify the performance impacts of all technical risks to ensure that risks are factored into any relevant analyses.
